In the end, I was more than satisfied with AMS's work. They were very timely, offered great designs and architecture, and the end result displayed excellent workmanship. The deck itself was very aesthetically pleasing, while serving its intended purposes. Everything was installed without any damage or trouble with the electricity or gas lines. The yard itself was also done very nicely. They created a landscape that would be more water- conservative in its drip irrigation system, as well as drought-resistant plants and well-cut flagstones that fit the locale quite well.

After months of searching for the right contractor to redo my backyard, a lot of hardscape, French drains, and more, I met and hired Frank and AMS Construction. Frank is licensed in both general contracting and landscape, knows what he is talking about and walks his talk. From the first meeting until the last day, Frank and his crew were communicative, timely, and simply did great work, making our backyard upgrade complete! We live on a hill which has its own challenges. But I could not be happier with the way things turned out. Throughout the process he checked in daily, was respectful, always cleaning up at the end of each day, had some creative solutions and was honest with pricing and stuck to what he said. As a lawyer, this was important for me to have a proper contract, proper licensing and insurance etc. Frank did just that. His time estimation from start date to end date was spot on and at the end of the project, our family was so happy with the outcome. When it's time to do the front yard I will not hesitate to call Frank and AMS Construction again. Highly recommend!

Frank of AMS Construction has now done 3 jobs at my house. Back yard, then master bath and most recently the front yard. My wife and I are so impressed with the quality
of work these guys do, that we didn't even get a second or 3rd bid for the front yard. My wife drew up all the plans on graph paper, no need for expensive architectural drawings. Frank can easily work with your drawings or just ideas!! His crew of Herman and Marcelino were here every day, on time ready to rock and roll. Only one day did they get here after 8am, and they told me the day before because they had to stop at the supply store for something they were short. so they got here at about 8:45 instead!!
I had added some things to the project after the fact, but that didn't faze Frank at all. He gave me a bid, I ok'd it and it was done.
Now for the workers. Both Herman and Marcelino are what you call perfectionists! I watched one time when Herman tapped a brick paver into place, didn't like it and tapped it back to adjust it what looked to be about 1/8 of an inch!! Marcelino was cutting square pavers to fit around a round sewer drain. They look like they came from the factory that way. And all he used was a diamond blade on an angle grinder. Neither of these guys wasted a single paver.
When they did the driveway, they had to put rebar in before the pour. There was about 20 feet of cut-offs (waste ends). Frank took it on himself to not waste it and toss it into the dumpster, but rather saw that I park my trailer in the driveway and had the crew use the left over pieces on that side of the driveway! Double strength!
Now for the bad. I wont be hiring them again because they have done everything at the house and I don't have anything left to do!!! Unless my wife thinks something else needs updating and then Frank gets the call. No one else, just AMS Construction!

When our church pastor retired and moved out of the parsonage (church owned house), ww took this opportunity to remodel this 30+ year old house. I found AMS through Yelp to get a quote. Frank was very professional and you can tell immediately he had a lot of experience.
Frank was very accommodating to all our requests (our=the church board members) and working with our church budget and timeline.
Frank completely transformed the house. He communicated very well every step of the way. And when a power outage caused one of the bedroom lights to fail, he came back to fix the problem. There were a few little things here and there that also needed fixing and he always came out to fix it, no problem, and guaranteed to always come back if we find anything else. Our church is very happy with his work and our new pastor is excited to move in.

Frank Fazllollahi understood what I wanted to repair my patio cover, and did an excellent job. I had him reroof my garage and make improvements there too. He showed up when he said he would. He made sure the work was done correctly.

Frank came in with a bid to do our "small" job at a relatively reasonable (for the South Bay!) cost. He stayed almost perfectly on budget, and completed the agreed-upon work. Things were late, but some of it was out of his control, and these things always take longer than expected. The crew showed up every single day they said they would. They had the garage door opener, and the garage is Eilled with various goodies. They are honest people.
The fact that AMS was almost perfectly on budget (within a few %) is excellent. Frank is a trustworthy guy. That's what you want in a contractor.
Frank did varied work, quite an impressive variety:
- Custom steel arbors and gates, electric outdoor heaters
- Neighbor fence with new moorings
- Hardscaping (travertine, decomposed granite) and landscaping
- Irrigation and outdoor lighting
- Concrete walls with stucco, structures with stucco, outdoor Eireplace
- Outdoor kitchen with custom countertops and high-end appliances
- In-law cottage with bathroom and shower on a new foundation
- In-Eloor radiant electric heating, split-HVAC system
- Electrical service upgrade and EV charging wiring
- New sewer, water, gas, and electrical runs throughout property
I am impressed and I think AMS deserves 5 stars for the work they did on our place. It's truly transformed our property and I could have paid 50% more with other contractors.
I would ask Frank to do another job for me in the future, which is saying a lot. I will update this review based on any warranty work, as Frank has agreed to Einish some Einal details and make sure his installations stay up and running.

Frank and his team did my concrete walkway a couple of weeks ago. The experience of working with them was great! Response time for my email was no more than an hour, and Frank was able to come over the next day for an estimate. Frank immediately understood what I was looking for and gave me a very reasonable proposal. Since the job was small they were able to Eit it in the next week. Frank Fazlollahi is one of the best, A few years ago, he did my backyard. He started with just a dirt pad in a 22 X 65 yard. He didn't need formal plans, in fact he preferred to work free hand where possible. Our retaining wall and electrical was already in place, so he didn't have to deal with that. My wife was able to tell him what her vision was and he nailed it.
He said the crew would be at my house, Eirst day, a Monday at 8AM. Wrong. It was 7:50AM !!!! The crew was fantastic. They were so meticulous about the pavers, that they cut them to within 1/8 inch, Eirst time, each time. No waste. He had a major job that came up and asked us for permission to work on a Sat-Sunday to complete the work. Of course I agreed. We got the yard sooner. He was so good, I hired him recently to do my master bath. This yard was a tad over 2 years ago and it still looks as good as the day it was completed.
